Why is he willing to show his voter ID as proof of citizenship but not the Ghanacard, which is certainly more robust?

Kwesi Pratt is right. If the Ghana Card is a must have then what is the need for the voter's card? Why have two ID cards before you can vote? Why do you waste so much money in Ghana? In Germany only the ID card is needed.

@Kwesi in Europe, as you pointed out, one needs the national ID to vote in Germany. The Ghanacard is the national ID in Ghana.

If you can go to the EC to register why can't you go to NIA to register first to authenticate your citizenship. It seems any attempt by the EC since time immemorial to plug any loop holes in the electoral system to make it strong is resisted vehemently by the NDC and their cohorts. Only God knows what they gain from these resistance. They never saw the need to change ballot box from opaque to transparent ones. They resisted photo Voter ID card and saw nothing wrong with the thumbprint ID. They are resisting the use of Ghana Card as the sole id for voter registration so they can bring illegal foreigners from Togo to come and register in their stronghold. Anything to make the system foolproof they will resist it why?

If you don’t register you don’t get to vote, you dumb head. If you don’t have a visa you can’t just take up your passport and travel except for countries where it’s not a requirement!!

Kwasi is very wrong. We need an identification. Go to any country on our East, North and Western boundaries they all have identification cards. Gradually we may do away with Voter cards.
