Take the case of the USA or the UK, the chief justice in those jurisdictions are not appointed based on the thinking of Ansah-Asare. More so, in the USA, supreme court judges are selected where there is a vacanc, by a sitting president subject to approval by the senate (in the case of Ghana, parliament). Is Ansah-Asare telling us that justice Brett Kavanaugh and Katenji Brown were the most senior judges in line for promotion to the US supreme court at the time they were nominated? And was chief justice Roberts, the most senior at the time he was selected as such?
In the case of Ghana was chief justice Atabugah the most senior judge among his jurist peers, at the time he became chief justice of Ghana?
It is sad in our country that some so called “intellectuals”, once they have a forum or convenient space, spew out what l consider “intellectual untruths or garbage” without thinking outside the bo, as to what goes into the making of a decision of the nature for example of a chief justic, or say an attorney general.
I am in no way rooting for CJ Torkonoo, all l am saying is that such discourse in our national body/politics should be done with the objectivity, transparency and seriousness such issues deserve.

The constitution didn't not state the most senior among them. CJ Geogina Wood wasn't the most senior at time of her appointment. Ansa Asare should speak as a former Law School Director. You may have issues with former President Akuffo Addo but be truthful as senior lawyer.

The current US CJ John Roberts, was not even on the bench when he was appointed the CJ ahead of all other Justices who were already on the bench. He was initially nominated to be an Associate Justice but before he could be vetted by the Senate, the CJ William Rehnquist died. His nomination was then elevated to that of CJ and he's been the CJ since September 29, 2005. There shold be other qualities apart from seniority.
