Appointment of the Legislative: Partially controlled by the Executive

So how do you expect these arms to be independent and exercise their duties impartially? And on top of this, the Executive appoints most of the CEO's Managing Directors Heads etc.

So how many powers are vested in the president?

My take, the CRC must amend these powers vested in the president, else these appointments will always remain partisan to the detriment of Ghana.

There should be a complete non-partisan body who will appoint all these institutions.We may do that true as referendum, or elections or as Ghanaians may deem it right.

For the first time, I agree with Mr Amidu. I think that sometimes Mr Mahama overdoes the inclusiveness thing. Remember, treachery is one of the hallmarks of the NPP folks.

NPP stalwart, Boss of CDD (whose agenda includes carrying out dirty work for the NPP in a pretentious manner) and lgbtq advocate, who has openly voiced his opposition to the anti-lgbtq law, as chairman of the Constitution Review Committee is a serious mistake.

A less critical role in a less critical assignment could have been given him. And for inclusivity, someone from say CPP or politically neutral person, who could be trusted much more would have been a much better choice. As a well experienced politician, Prez Mahama knows the crucial importance of trust, and should not be taking such risks.

Very Serouse purnishments for corruption for corrupt politicians and appointed ministers (Fast track),
CJ not chosen by rulling the sitting Presidency,
Attorney general not chosen by rulling the sitting Presidency-perhaps by the main oppotion of the day,
Auditor general not chosen by rulling the sitting Presidency-perhaps by the main oppotion of the day,
IGP not chosen by rulling the sitting Presidency-perhaps by the main oppotion of the day,
OSP/EOCO/CHRAJ made into one and not chosen by rulling the sitting Presidency- independently chosen by application,
Regions like Ashanti and Volta made to vote like the US system so sheer tribal voting is curbed,
EC Chair not chosen by a sitting presidency and should include chosen core members from the all main parties (ndc & npp in particular so all hideen agendas can be seen and reported clearly)
