The constitution in article 50(1)b takes care of that. After the close of nomination of only one person fill then there shall be no election that person shall be declare as elected.
We have about 10 certified political parties in Ghana if one decided not to contest, a bye-election the rest plus potential independent candidates can participate.
The electoral rules or laws do not call for a political party to be responsible for filling a vacant parliamentary seat without a bye-election. NDC and NPP are not the only political parties in the country. A bye-election has ...
