Why this brouhaha on Ayawaso East ndc primaries vote buying? This vote buying monster has been with us whether internal, primaries or general elections, vote buying will raise its ugly head in it. In every election in Ghana today vote buying plays a major role in it. Vote buying even occurs where a constituency is labelled as safe haven for a particular candidate or a party. Ayawaso East is safe for ndc and see what has happened during the primaries and it won't end there as the final candidates will continue to buy votes before and during the election day. Whoever emerge from ndc as parliamentary candidate is sure to win the seat but he/she must buy votes to make sure nothing untoward happens. Vote buying has become galamsey in politics, it's evil, it's bad, it's criminal it's preventing good materials from getting to parliament but we can't fight it. It has become galamsey in politics because it's not beind perpetuated by ordinary Ghanaians but high profile people are behind it all. I always say that vote buying started in the 90s and some few individuals started talking about it but they were ignored by the powers that be. Then later, other politicians also followed suit because what's good for the goose is also good for the gander and now it has gotten roots in the political space so much so that no election passes without candidates buying votes left, right and center. We have glorified it over the years and now we're crying.
