Majority of our MP who entered parliament are inexperienced, we shouldn't forget per the Constitution the President picks some of them as his Ministers. They are also prone to making mistakes and also easy to bribe bcoz they have just started life after Uni. I hope we had this as part if our Constitution Review plus the Total Number of MPs being reduced from 276 to 150.

The core function of parliamentary work is to make laws, debate legislation, and conduct oversight of government actions, particularly through committee meetings.

MPs hold regular meetings with constituents, address community issues, and act as a link between the people and government, which is a demanding, active role rather than just a passive job. These demand attitude and commitment and nit necessarily the physical strength. Age is just a number and l have seen younger persons who have atrophied and gotten to near vegetative state whereas some older perdons remain active and purposefully focused and grounded

Aside wining pblic trust, true legislative performance is aimed at strengthening accountability, improving policy outcomes, and building a society based on merit, rather than just being young and supposedly energetic. All things being equal, one sees more of crystallised intelligence and wisdom acquired over the years which any decision maker at beyond even 70 years much more matured

Competition via Ghana's electoral process and debts incurred by persons/ candidates cannot be truncated by age unless government nullifies political debts owed by MP's if they are obligated or mandated to retire against their inherent or natural rights and justice.

The chaotic political era we live in are attributable to the lack of knowledge transfer and knowledge retention. While we continue to grant extraordinary powers, liberties, wages, salarie and perks to our politicians, not to mention access to government contracts and a perverse entitlements the nation fails to get anything in return on all that we invest un our politicians.

We should be mindful, as a nation, to not fall for feel-good concepts that yields nothing of value but hollow solutions with band-aid results. We cannot and must not attempt to solve unemployment with curtailment of the rights of people gainfully employed.

We cannot, on one-side of our mouth, force mandatory retirement age on people while on the other side of the same mouth lament and complain about problems of inexperience, lack of productivity and etc. We must have in place at each agency of government a system of "knowledge transfer or knowledge retention scheme" that centers around monitoring, shadowing, succession planning and cross training if we must mandate forced retirement age.
