The Minority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has stated that several Members of Parliament (MPs) from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) are facing difficulties within their circles.

According to him, some of these MPs do not even have vehicles to commute from their homes to Parliament.

Addressing TESCON students at the African University of Communications and Business (AUCB), Afenyo-Markin noted that many of the MPs remain silent due to party loyalty and are unable to speak openly about the issues they face.

The Efuttu Member of parliament further cautioned members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to unite and work together in order to secure victory in the 2028 general elections.

He further stated that after the tenure of President John Dramani Mahama, the NDC would not have a strong candidate to rely on, while the NPP has Mahamudu Bawumia.

NDC would be shocked if elections were held today – Afenyo-Markin claims

“Most NDC MPs are really suffering from hardship, some of them even cars to take them to parliament, they don’t have but because of their party, they cannot speak. I am a leader, so I know what is going on. If this were the NPP, there would be trouble.

So, I urge you, when issues arise, let us discuss them amicably. Because in 2028, the NDC will not have a candidate but for us, God has given us Dr Bawumia. So, if anybody offends you, let us find the best way to resolve such disputes,” he said.
