Dr Kingsley Agyemang is former Registrar of the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat
The Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South, Dr Kingsley Agyemang, has refuted media reports that he has been arrested by the Bureau of National Intelligence (BNI), describing the claims as false.
This follows reports that he was arrested by the BNI in connection with alleged scholarship-related fraud under the administration of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Information available to GhanaWeb indicates that the MP was invited through the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, on May 5, 2026, where he was questioned by investigators.
He is said to have cooperated with the inquiry and was subsequently released after the engagement.
A video shared by the MP on May 5, 2026, also showed him at an eatery in the company of an unidentified person, countering claims of arrest and detention.
Meanwhile, the full circumstances surrounding the case and the specific allegations levelled against him have not yet been made public by the BNI.
