BNI probes former Scholarship Secretariat boss over alleged fraud

The Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) has invited the former Registrar of the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat, Dr Kingsley Agyemang, for questioning in connection with alleged scholarship-related fraud under the administration of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Information available to GhanaWeb indicates that the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South Constituency was invited through the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, on May 5, 2026, where he was questioned by investigators and later released.

He was subsequently engaged through the Speaker to cooperate with the inquiry, after which he responded to questions and later released.

Meanwhile, the full circumstances surrounding the case and the specific allegations levelled against him are yet to made public by BNI.
