A seasoned community engagement expert and native of Anokyi, Patricia Nelson has declared her bid for Deputy Constituency Secretary in the Ellembelle branch of NDC, promising to bring 13 years of grassroots service and energy sector experience to strengthen the party ahead of the October 2026 polls.

With the slogan “PN is here to serve”, Nelson is positioning herself as a grassroots leader with professional expertise to strengthen the party’s base.

Speaking to the media, the aspiring Deputy Secretary said her bid is rooted in 13+ years of commitment to the NDC since 2012.

“My goal is simple: PN is here to serve,” Nelson stated.

She said her priority will be to improve constituency administration through proper record keeping.

“First, I will support effective constituency administration through efficient record management so our data is accurate and accessible. This will ensure that party records are well kept, up to date, and easily available for planning and decision-making,” she said.

She also stressed the need for stronger communication and grassroots mobilization.

“Second, I will strengthen communication and coordination among all party structures to ensure we speak with one voice. I will also promote membership growth and active participation at the grassroots level because a strong party is built on an active and engaged base,” she added.

She further pledged to help implement party policies while upholding accountability.

“Finally, I will assist in implementing party policies and strategic programs that benefit our members and constituents. I will uphold accountability, transparency, and strict compliance with the party’s constitution and regulations at all times,” Nelson emphasized.

On her working relationship with the constituency executives, Nelson promised teamwork and respect for hierarchy.

She assured delegates that she will be submissive to the main secretary and other executives to ensure unity and smooth administration.

“I will work closely with the Constituency Secretary and the entire executive team. My role as Deputy is to support, not compete. I will be submissive to the main secretary and other executives because unity is what will deliver results for Ellembelle NDC,” she said.

Nelson also advised her followers to focus on key issues and avoid personal attacks. She said unity must be protected ahead of October 2026.

“I urge all my supporters and the entire Ellembelle NDC to engage in an issue-based campaign. Let’s debate ideas, policies, and how to strengthen the party. When we keep the campaign clean, unity in Ellembelle NDC will be maintained, and we will all win together,” she advised.

She took the opportunity to call on Ghanaians to continue to have trust in President John Dramani Mahama’s government.

“I want to use this opportunity to call on all Ghanaians to continue to have trust in President John Dramani Mahama’s government. The President is working hard to reset the economy and deliver the promises we made to the people. Let’s give him our full support,” she said.

Nelson is a seasoned community engagement and stakeholder management expert with extensive experience in the energy and extractive sector. As a certified CMP, CPAP, and ADR practitioner, she brings strong expertise in stakeholder consultation, communication, public affairs, and conflict resolution.

Nelson added that her campaign, themed #Ey3Zu #EllembelleDecides, is driven by a clear commitment to unity, service, and results.

“I am not here for a title. I am here to work. After 13 years serving the party behind the scenes and my experience managing stakeholders in the energy sector, I understand both grassroots concerns and how to get things done. That’s the PN difference,” she said.

“My dear delegates, Ellembelle deserves leadership that is accountable, transparent, and always available. As we head toward October 2026, vote for Patricia Nelson. Vote for experience. Vote PN – she is here to serve,” she appealed.

Her candidacy also aligns with Ghana’s Affirmative Action (Gender Equity) Act 2024, Act 1121, which requires 30% women representation in decision-making roles by 2026.

Patricia Nelson is likely to become the first female Deputy Constituency Secretary in the history of the Ellembelle NDC.
