Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary aspirant for the Bantama Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Ralph Agyapong, has stated that former Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong, has nothing to lose should he decide to leave the NPP.

According to him, Kennedy Agyapong is already financially established through his businesses and did not enter politics to accumulate wealth; therefore, leaving the party would not negatively affect his personal livelihood.

Speaking in an interview on Okay FM on June 23, 2026, Ralph, who is also Kennedy’s younger brother, clarified that Kennedy’s recent remarks were not directed at any individual within the party but were his way of expressing concerns about issues he believes are not going well within the NPP.

“This is not the time for him to enter politics to make wealth. If the party loses him, it loses a member. So, when people go on social media making such comments, what does he have to lose? Nothing,” he said.

Ralph further explained that Kennedy Agyapong has often defended people who were attacked by others within the party, suggesting that his contributions to the NPP should not be overlooked.

His comments follow recent threats by Kennedy Agyapong that, between June and July 2027, he would release what he describes as evidence of wrongdoing by some members of the party and expose certain issues within the NPP.
