'I won’t apologize to him!' - NPP aspirant quits over Tampuli's demands

Abdul‑Wadud Iddrisu, who had announced his intention to contest the Constituency Communication Officer post in the Gushegu Constituency Executive Elections, has withdrawn his candidacy.

“I respectfully withdraw my candidature for Constituency Communication Officer in the Constituency Executive Elections scheduled for 11th or 12th July 2026,” he said.

In a statement, Abdul‑Wadud Iddrisu said he was asked to issue a public apology on Facebook to the NPP and Lawyer Sulemana Hassan Tampuli, MP for Gushegu, as a condition for his candidature, but he refused to comply.

“I have decided not to meet that condition, and I will therefore not proceed with the contest even if my name is captured without the apology letter,” the statement said.

Iddrisu has demanded that his name be removed from the ballot for the Communication Officer position and that all records of his application be withdrawn from party files, adding that he remains a loyal member of the NPP in Gushegu.
