He has disassociated himself from the noise making in the media. What the likes of Osae Kwapong are doing is to keep the issue in the headlines. Mahama is concentrating on what he has promised to do and he should be left in peace to do so.

The only ship we hard at Tema was sold by Ex Prez Kuffour. What did he do with all the grants from Europe and HIPC funds other than building toilets. He moved Akufo ado from justice minister to foreign minister because he was jailing former rawlings appointees. Kuffour wanted the status quo to continue so he and his family could become rich. Meanwhile, he had the best opportunity to transform ghana, in the sense that when he came to power he came on a very clean slate. There wasn't the difficult issue of tainted past colleaque party members to deal with. Yet he created his own brand of corruption in the country which we are still struggling with to date.

Kuffour inherited a stable economy and at the time had all the nations debt forgiven. Every president in the history of this nation, probably besides Nkrumah paid debt on a monthly basis, remember the recent $700 million dollars Mahama paid? He didn't incur it but had to pay because it's how nations run. When Akuffo Addo couldn't pay, he gave us a bitter pill called DDEP. Kuffour had all our debt written off under HIPC. HIPC wasn't his creation. It came with the Y2K and the fear that the world financial system was going to collapse because computers were not set to. Hange over into the 2000s and the respect the west had for the biblical year of jubilee. Kuffour started off with a clean slate. He didn't have debts to pay and besides that the nation got huge monetary donations. We still sold our cocoa, timber, gold etc anyway.
The country was rich. Debt free and donations whilst getting income. What did he do with all the money? All we say was public toilets. NHIS was great but at the time very limited in scope. Besides that, I dare anyone to point out any other good legacy from that amount of money. Less than 6 years later, he did the wicked redenomination because the country was broke already. They took advantage to loot the national enrich themselves. Who was watching the watchman? What happened to the notes that were to be shredded? Who thinks they didn't loot. The bank of Ghana is silent over a lot of rot

Former head of state General Kutu Acheampong was doing well as a leader (1972-1979) in spite of his challenges until he decided to prolong his stay. He proposed Union Gov't which turned out unpopular after the referendum and eventually was forcefully removed from office which has birthed the NDC. History seems to be unfolding with this third term proposal which indeed is uncalled for because the constitution is clear. There are persons who if you gave them 1000 years will not produce anything sensible because time is not of essence to them. Life is so short that the adage "things that have to be done have to be done now" not tomorrow is meaningless to them. The Bible is apt describing some one as a fool for procrastinating and that his life will be taken from him the next day. Some people go to church for nothing. They hold degrees yet don't use their heads. Leave when the accolade is loud if any. The FOOL talks tomorrow but the wise lives with the adage 'a stitch in time saves nine'. A word to the wise.
