If it took two consecutive years of Year of Roads to do what little could be done; if successive governments have struggled to do roads all these years, it is a mark of insecurity and poor judgement to think construction roads on a scale never seen in this country is an act of mediocrity. This guy is one of the few intelligent persons in Ghana. He talked sense. The so called big push which implies basically the construction of roads should have been done 50 years ago. We should be be ashamed of ourselves as a nation. Also when we talk of job creation it's often about recruitment into the security services (police, military, immigrants, etc) hardly any job opportunities in the productive sectors of the economy. Everything we consume are imported into the country including tomatoes and onions, etc. I am therefore surprised that Ghanaians are overwhelmed with the little improvements in the macroeconomic data when our standard of living is one of the lowest in the world. Children are still going to school under a tree, mothers are giving birth to babies on the floor in some hospitals, over 70% of the population have no access to clean drinking water, malnutrition and stunting are rampant in children across the country, etc. In the midst of all these pressing needs John Mahama just bought expensive V8 cars as a gift to retired army officers as reported by Ghanaweb on 3rd of August 2026. Where did the money come from? We need a new political party in Ghana to take us to higher heights. So long as we keep recycling NDC and NPP we will remain where we are as a nation.

True...I've always wondered why any government will use the provision of roads and other basic amenities entitled to tax paying citizens...who's own money either through taxes or monies borrowed to be paid later by it's own citizens... be used as a political campaign tool. This is weired and you'll understand better if you live in an advanced country. Before you insult note this funds for these projects are from citizens from all political divides and one party can't use it as a campaign tool. Government is supposed to ensure it's citizens have basic amenities...roads...lights...water etc in return for all the taxes you pay...so if in this age...if this small country endowed with this amount of wealth is celebrating the construction of roads and the provision of basic amenities it should be a concern. Ghana in this age shouldn't be talking about or excited about whose constructing a kilometer of road and keeping the lights on...it's sad for the country to publish our big people when they secure loans and aid...the country is too rich for it's current predicament....only if people will stop looting and think about the country.

You were in opposition and criticise the previous administration was not doing anything good and you won the power based on Ghanaians buying into your promises. You cannot still talk about the previous government because you were voted to come and do what npp failed to do and this government is failing brutal and you that barely do hand to move is still here insulting people who is reminding the government about their promises.

UK has had about 5 prime ministers in one decade and all of them were forced out by their own party people because people are educated and can weigh information and make good decisions and you cannot fool anyone.
