What was Gold-for-Oil? It was not about every Ghanaian selling gold. It was a POLICY to stop the cedi from bleeding. Before Gold-for-Oil, Bank of Ghana was spending $500 MILLION every month to import oil and defend cedi. Cedi was in free fall. Gold-for-Oil stopped that nonsense. It kept fuel from hitting GH¢45 per litre and stabilized the cedi without touching our dollar reserves. Every trotromate and every okada rider benefited because if fuel had doubled, your lorry fare would have doubled too! That is Economic Management 101 that NDC communicators can never understand.

And you compare that masterstroke to your confused "24-hour economy"?

Please, tell us:
• Which factory will run at night when dumsor is back?
• Where is the cheap electricity at night you promised?
• Which bank will give loan to a Makola woman to work 24hrs when your own budget has increased her tax?
• If airports running 24hrs is your achievement, were Kotoka and KIA not running 24hrs under NPP?

Gold-for-Oil was for the entire economy - cedi stability. Your 24-hour economy is for some few people who get protocol appointments to sit on boards as "24hr Secretariat" collecting allowances while traders are being beaten by VAT.

Dr. Bawumia asked a simple question: If you can't explain 24-hour economy to your own market woman without an English dictionary and 10 press conferences, how is it a policy for the masses?

Stop insulting the man who kept the lights on, kept Free SHS running, and paid NABCO when your John Mahama said he won't pay.

Ideas, not insults, win elections. And on ideas, Bawumia is far ahead.
