…The Ghana Armed Forces has denied media reports that it has assigned men to protect President John Mahama’s brother, Ibrahim Mahama.

Media reports have suggested that soldiers have been detailed to guard the President’s brother after pictures of him in the company of soldiers while on a health walk emerged on social media.

But in a statement to clarify the matter, the Armed Forces Command condemned the act and assured that the necessary action is being taking to address the issue.

“The Military High command has taken a serious exception of the bad conduct in respect of soldiers who participated in a health walk and were alleged to have been providing close protection to Mr. Ibrahim Mahama.

“The Military High Command wish to state that it has not assigned any soldier as body guard to Mr. Ibrahim Mahama. The soldiers in question were assigned as part of the security detail at the flagstaff House,” the statement signed by Director Public Affairs Colonel Aggrey-Quashie noted…..

His Excellency John Dramani Mahama is pursuing the better Ghana agenda very efficiently. Northerners in Ghana must never mistake RELIGION WITH ETHNICITY. Religion is foreign to us and can change, ethnicity cannot change.

The first Ghanaian popularly elected Northerner President, Dr. Hilla Liman was chopped down pre-maturely and without any indictment. The propaganda against his Excellency John Dramani Mahama is biased and is deeply entrenched entrenched in unspoken ethnicity. No President can be working this hard to improve his nation that his own (religion bar) will not sing his praises.

The Media is controlled and so people must not allow themselves to be led astray. People are given incentives to look the other way. It is most unthinkable that so much lies including SADA money could be spewed by a fellow Northerner who will simply be marginalised as his predecessor, Alhaji Aliu Mahama was marginalised when it matters most.

There is the unspoken regional bias in the electioneering process and Northerners must never let this golden opportunity slip through their fingers. His Excellency is working tirelessly to make Ghana a better place with infrastructures everywhere upon which the future will be built. He is not regional bias and appealing to all sections of the Regions. The writer is Ga Dangme.

Unpopular decisions have been made in phasing out trainee allowances for some students to bring parity in the education system. Cheap politicking will be promising to re-instate these allowances. When again will the chance come for only deserving students become Nurses and teachers and not for the incentives? Both disciplines are over-subscribed and yet incentives on the table to what end?

The NPP is touting religious factionalism as against ethnicity which is not strong basis to enrich our pride and culture. There is the hypocrisy that frowns on ethnicity as was proclaimed by the Chief of Staff whilst touting religious factionalism.

We have a Northerner in Office who is very very efficient and running the economy to the praise of Ghana on international markets. Should a running mate (second time round) of a religious based individual influence the votes from the North? Never may that be. There is religious tolerance in Ghana to the highest degree that no Muslim has ever in Ghana been denied any Hajj or Holidays on grounds of their religion.

Should the pride of the North be in ethnicity or in foreign religion which was brought to us all? There is only ONE GOD they will tell us.

His Excellency John Dramani Mahama is the pride of Ghana in this century and foreigners are attesting to this. The developments he is spearheading in Ghana are unprecedented and quite rightly pitches himself against the programmes of Dr Nkrumah, the father of modern day Ghana.

Northerners should not let their pride slip from their hands and must vote massively for His Excellency John Dramani Mahama. The very best thing from the North this century.

The NDC is an all embracing Party. An Ewe President, Fanti President and now a Northerner President. Very efficient as capable. Do not shame the North for an old man who wishes to fulfil a dream at 72 and will promise Airports in all Regions - free this and free that. When they say he was corrupt it was only for a car gift that they rushed to Parliament to impeach him. Even that, they did not even know the procedures to follow. Talk is simply cheap and sometimes too cheap. Ghana is not a virgin country where nothing has happened before.

Most of us were naive enough to dream the stretch was being repaired (apparently it was during election period). I traveled the same stretch this very day. 4 years on, it still remains the same. This is especially cos the big politicians travel by air. I really wonder if the Ghanaian lives matter apart from asking us to say 'JM, toa so'! What nonsense!!!
