There was near pandemonium and confusion at the Annual Global African Investment Forum held in Westminster, Central London after a heated exchange between Ghana’s President John Mahama and former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo degenerated into open insults.This was due to General Obasanjo openly accusing the Ghanaian president and his government of blackmailing and collecting bribes from Nigerian businessmen in Ghana, buying numerous properties in Nigeria and South Africa and financially contributing 12 million dollars to Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign last year. This infuriated President Mahama who lost his temper and pointing his finger, called General Obasanjo an ” idiot” and a “silly buffoon”.It took other ministers present as well as Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni to calm tempers and usher President Mahama to a nearby room. The forum, which takes place from 1st to 3rd December is attended by African Heads of States, Ministers, Private equity firms and investors to discuss opportunities for investment and development in African Economies.

I learnt from political science course at UG that in opinion polls some interviewees would just tell you what you want to hear. The chorus in past was that NDC was incompetent and losing. So people were writing them off. Just like Trump who closed the poll gap close to the elections, I believe what Ephson is saying considering the many commissioning of project that John Mahama is doing now. This has reduced or eliminated the "incompetent" perception in the minds of people. Truth is people vote based on what they see and not what they hear.

As Bright Simons alludes, Ben Ephson's polls are the most reliable to date. By their very nature, one does not expect polls to predict the results correctly all the time. The behaviour of the electorate is complex and adaptive. The conditions under which the polls were conducted are dynamic and not static. The changes after the polls may be significant enough to alter the outcome of the elections, as predicted by the polls, and render the poll inaccurate. It does not mean the methodology was flawed. The ground changed after the poll was conducted. There are so many prevailing factors that determine the outcome of an election and these variables could be influenced naturally or via human intervention.
For instance, the outcome of this predicted poll could make NDC complacent and NPP doubling their campaign effort. These activities could alter the outcome of the results of the elections significantly. Emerging National or International events or crisis could also sway the results away from the Ephson's predicted poll. It does not make Ben wrong and every sense of the word.
It will be unwise for Ben Epson to spoil his own market by publishing his trade secrets.

In Ghana, however, these pollsters dont even share with the reading public how randomised the sample size is, how many people were interviewed, the interview methodology, and more importantly the margin of error to be used in analysing the results. I would therefore say the polls in Ghana are not scientific and should be ignored.

1. Nana Addo as president will project the Okyehene Oforipanin Amotia over that of the Asantehene.
2. NPP has in the past accused the Asantehene of supporting President Mahama and the NDC.
3. By the time Nana Addo complete his first term, Asantehene popularity and importance would have dwindled.
4. Already there exist some rivalry between the Asantehene and the Okyehene Over who is more important than the other. Okyehene demonstrated this during the funeral of the late Hon. JB Dankwa, when the Okyehene got angry because the Asantehene represented by the one of his chiefs refused to get up when the Okyehene approached to greet him at the funeral.
5. All diplomats who hitherto would have paid courtesy calls on the Asantehene will now pay those calls on the Okyehene when Nana A.do is president.
