You got it. Is not that difficult but the will is not there. Also remove traders from the sidewalks and relocate them to the markets or malls to ease congestion(s). Is done elsewhere in Africa.

TO clean Accra, you have to construct new gutters to check erosion, repair streets and, and pave them. If possible gutters should be covered to avoid drowning. We should not discharge
waste products including human excreta into
the gutters. We must see that open defecation
on our shores , or on the sidewalks, or in the
immediate bushes etc are things of the past.
When new BOXING ARENA, KASOA INTERCHANGE,
NKRUMAH CIRCLE, INTERCHANGE,the previous
administration described these edifies as
having done massive development in ACCRA.
It looked as if these were just on-lookers
when they traveled to foreign lands. They did
not learn anything to repatriate home.

Does the mayor of Accra always have to be a native of Accra, a Ga born? What did the previous mayors contribute to Accra?Mettle Nunoo,Adjiri Blankson and Dr Vanderpuije;-they all left the office with their booty and left Accra with shit. They must be ashamed of themselves. They were criminals who had no beauty in the eyes.Lagos has more than twice the population of Accra, and the mayor of Lagos has done what no any mayor in black Africa has done. It's all about the beauty and the love for the city.90% of people we ask to represent us are poor people who are in politics to enrich themselves and their families. We should select people who have made their mark in the country and he/she is not in politics because of his /her stomach. The tax payers of all the regional capital must hold their mayors accountable if they fail to perform their duty.No investor will like to invest in mosquito infested and dirty environment. Our cities are dirty, we should not play politics with them-Nana Egyir Aggrey Snr citizen

The Akans say, “When Nakedness promises to clothe you, ask for the name.” If Ishmael Ashietey were the only Akuffo-Addo’s Minister-designate, I would confidently predict the failure of the government. This Ashietey guy is the embodiment of Corruption, Incompetence, and Greed.
First, the question of ASHIETEY being an American citizen and when should be settled by the Vetting Committee at the very beginning of the vetting process before anything else. Depending on if and when, he may have been in violation of the Constitution in the past when he served as MP and Minister or he can't serve the government in any capacity at all. It's easy to find out officially from the Department of Homeland Security through the American Embassy in Accra. I want to keep an open mind even though one of the women he was sleeping with, who incidentally was was also somebody’s wife, has told me he is.
Secondly, there is nothing wrong in encouraging indigenous participation in politics but when it's clothed in ethnocentric remarks as, “Vote Indegene. Others Don't Care About You!” or words to that effect, then there is something wrong here: You're practising politics of exclusion and therefore narrowing your choices of more capable people. Ashietey has been a supporter and purveyor of this nonsense to his advantage but to the disadvantage of his constituents as the indigenes have bought into the propaganda and made it impossible for more capable non-indigenes to hold any public office in his constituency. The result is that since the inception of the 4th Republic, the Tema East Constituency including Tema Manhean where all the MPs have come from, has seen no development. Tema Manhean is becoming more crowded and filthier by the day and becoming a backwater in the metropolis. It is instructive to note that, Ashietey served as the MP for three consecutive terms. AND HE IS TALKING OF CLEANING UP ACCRA AND CREATING JOBS! The Gas would say, “ANOKWALE PO!” The recent brouhaha over the Party's Tema MMDCE nominations is a case in point
Corruption? “THE LARGEST FINANCIAL MALFEASANCE IN THE HISTORY OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT,” in the words of then Minister of Local Government in the Kuffour administration, Effah-Dartey, occurred at the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) in 2002. It involved a waste management contract which was orchestrated by Ashietey with directions allegedly from Kuffour’s Office. Because of the huge amount of money involved, this incident attracted national interest as a result of which Kuffour ordered investigations into the transaction. Even though indictments were handed to the culprits including Ashietey, Kuffour refused to prosecute despite assurances on November 27, 2003 from his sector minister, Nana Akomeah. Instead Kuffour went on to promote him to Ministerial positions first as Minister of Trade and Industry where he was removed for not being alive to his duties and responsibilities and then to Fisheries where he was involved again in pre-mix fuel scandals. However, Kuffour either bribed those who had called for prosecution in the TMA case or squeezed those who resisted into irrelevance. HONORABLE Osei-Aidoo, then MP for Tema West who also doubled as Majority Leader, but who had vigorously called for prosecution was labeled an NDC-mole and hounded into oblivion! AKUFFO-ADDO WAS AND IS AWARE OF THIS CASE. For him to nominate this crook as Minister--designate at all is unconscionable. And to create a new and separate Sanitation Ministry only for CROOKED ASHIETEY to also mention sanitation as his priority to “create jobs” when he hasn't identified any source of funding, should alert citizens to a potential collusion for fraud because Waste Management is one of the few areas vulnerable to financial shenanigans. The Vetting Committee should quiz CROOKED ASHIETEY extensively on this TMA fraud and others involving the IT Center at Tema, the renovation of the Post Office at Tema Manhean and the pre-mixed fuel scandals during his tenure as Minister of Fisheries.
Finally the Committee shouldn’t be shy to delve into his habit of wrecking homes. Some people may not think this is serious enough but it should be. The political, economic, and social costs to a nation are enormous when people don't reach their full potential as a result of family breakups and I’ll be more than happy to help the Committee with FACTS in this regard. That's why in advanced countries, measures are in place to punish the perpetrators financially in courts of law.
The Committee should not be fooled by CROOKED ASHIETEY's impressive CV. That this guy served on many Parliamentary Committees under Kuffour despite his thievery gives credence to the fact that Kuffour rewarded crookery and punished integrity.
I’m sorry the President has added another disappointment to his political capital with this crook’s nomination. The Vetting Committee should help the country by refusing his confirmation."

This guy was the MP for Tema East for 12 consecutive years including stints as Minister.Instead of helping to develop his constituency,he rather conspired to inflate costs of projects in his area and pocketed the difference. One such project involved waste management. As a result Tema Manhean aka Tema New Town, which is also his birthplace and in his constituency, has become filthy, stench-filled and overcrowded while he lives in a cleaner environment at Tema. If he couldn't do it on a smaller scale, what is the guarantee that he'll do it on a larger scale given that during the interview,he didn't understand "Vision" and it was also obvious he hadn't thought of any creative means of generating extra revenue to meet his expected shortfall in waste management except his reliance on the government which we know can be a recipe for disaster.
