The Eastern Regional First Vice Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party [NPP], Alhaji Umar Bodinga says fighting illegal mining widely known as ‘Galamsey’ is a huge task which President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo can’t conquer alone.
According to him, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government whiles in power did nothing to help fight the situation but finds pleasure in ranting while in opposition.
“NDC did not put up any policy when they were in power. They knew the situation before NPP came to power,” he said.
Alhaji Umar Bodinga also admitted that “I can’t say here that the NPP led by President Nana Addo has succeeded in fighting galamsey 100% but this government has done extremely well in the fight against galamsey.”
