'I am not looking for marriage' – Actress Yvonne Jegede

Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has revealed her stance on marriage, describing it as “overrated.”

The 42-year-old movie star said she is open to remarriage but is not actively seeking it.

Jegede made this disclosure during a recent interview with Naija FM in Lagos.

She explained that while marriage can be meaningful, it should not be seen as the ultimate measure of fulfilment, especially for women.

According to her, personal happiness, peace of mind and self-growth are far more important than societal expectations.

The actress also noted that many people remain in unhappy marriages due to pressure from family and society, rather than genuine companionship.

She stressed that choosing to stay single is not a sign of failure, but sometimes a conscious decision for emotional well-being.
