1. KKD was born in Tema.
2. He comes from a royal home his father is Opanin Kwasi Darkwah and Ohemaa Ama Asokwa Kyei Darkwah.
3. He is the first male of six children to his mother, he saw nothing wrong with his father marrying ‘only’ three wives then, although he thinks a man can never be fair to any other woman apart from one.
4. He is the owner of Darkwah Plaza and Jatokrom Hotel in Tema. 5. He found his love for entertainment while helping his parents at their record shop in the early seventies.
6. He bought his first car, a Fiat Campagnola 4X4 when he was just 18 — just what he needed to transport his mixing console and massive sound system.
7. By age 15 he was writing advertising copy and from age 17 recording jingles and voice-overs following the commendation of GBC sound technician, Philip Agbale.
8. He organized jams and dance competitions for secondary students, and went on to organize fashion shows in PRESEC Legon.
9. Even though he has a career with ‘parties’ he doesn’t drink alcohol nor smoke.
10. He studied at the Ghana Institute of Journalism whilst working at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation from age 20, and graduated with a Diploma in Journalism.
11. His mentors included the likes of PV Obeng [ex-PNDC minister], Geddy Laryea [CEO of MMRS] and Mike Eghan [veteran broadcaster].
12. By age 31, KKD had managed Advertising and Promotions for ABC Brewery Limited in Achimota and served on the executive planning committee for the Miss Ghana Beauty Pageant.
