Twelve talents have, after two grueling months, made it to the finals of the TV3 Mentor programme, a reality event to be broadcast on their network.
Selected from three zones, namely Accra, Kumasi and Takoradi, the 12 were selected from about 2,000 young people between the ages of 21 and 25 at an auditioning.
They are Prince Baffour, Samuel Obeng Wiafe, Ruth Williams, Roseline Brown, Martin Asare and Andy Kodua.
The rest are Hakeem Shabazz, Alfred Donkor, Maya Bennin, Doris Amaniampong, Isaac Assan and Paulette Brown.
The choice of these five ladies and seven men was based on their ability to sing and hold their notes in addition to stage presence and other attributes.
They will be housed in the TV3 Mentor House in the heart of Accra, from April 1 for 12 weeks during which time they will be trained and groomed by selected mentors including Esther Smith, Kojo Antwi, Obuor, Naana Frempong, Nana Fynn, Batman, Kwabena Kwabena, Noble Nketia and Nii Okai.
The living area of the Mentor House will be fitted with live video and audio equipment which will enable viewers follow the participants through their training sections.
Weekly live studio appearances and viewer elimination through SMS texts with the participation of judges drawn from industry professionals will be held during the stay period.
Scoring for mentors will be 70 per cent from public texts and 30 per cent from studio judges.
The three who emerge tops will receive as first prize a record deal, video production, free publicity of music on TV3, special guest status on TV3 events and other souvenirs from sponsors.
The first runner-up will receive a record deal worth 50 per cent of the first prize winners deal, ?10 million cash and souvenirs from sponsors while the third prize winner picks ?5 million cash and souvenirs from sponsors.
