McDan Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) wing of the McDan Group of companies feted over 3,000 aged women and widows on Boxing Day (December 26, 2019) at the yet-to-be-commissioned McDan La Town Park in Accra.
The aged women and widows were also provided with food items as part of activities to mark the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
One of the most essential moments that characterised the much-publicised event was how 126-year-old Salomey Boye who was full of energy and could walk alone with little support from her walking stick, romanced the Chief Executive Officer of McDan Group of Companies, Mr. Daniel McKorley to the chagrin of the gathering.
The sharp lenses of HotfmGhana.com captured the 126-year-old mother of 16 with only four surviving, giving the business mogul kisses while he was interacting with the women for honouring his invitation.
Mr. McKorley, who was also in joyous mood, encouraged the Centenarian to do more by asking the media to capture every bit of it.
After throwing patrons into an ecstatic mood with her romantic gesture, Ms Boye defied the hindrances associated with her age and produced not just an energetic but unbelievable dance moves.
The enthusiasm with which she performed and the euphoria that characterised the atmosphere summarised the extent to which patrons appreciated the gesture. Ms Boye, in her remarks, eulogised Mr. McKorley for organising such a programme.
This year’s exercise marks the sixth edition McDan group has been feeding and providing for the widows in Accra.
