TWENTY winners of the Peace FM ‘Made In Ghana Month Promotion’ received their prizes at a short ceremony at the Achimota, Accra, premises of Peace FM last Tuesday.
According to Mr. Kwasi Brenya, General Manager of Peace FM, the month of August was devoted to the promotion of Ghanaian industry and locally produced goods.
The objective of the promotion, he stated, was to educate Ghanaians on the need to patronize locally made products as a way of effectively sustaining the growth of the Ghanaian economy.
The Peace FM promotion was supported by nine local industries and companies, namely Kenobeng, Baruk, Bondes Limited, Fay International, Josbod Furniture, Getrade, Bels Best Company, Rosenta and Mobile Phone People.
The promotion was based on questions (about local industries and sponsors’ products in particular) to callers to the promotion programmes.
The overall prizewinner was Mr. Edem Galley, who received a Pop-Corn making machine donated by Kenobeng.
The second prize winner was Mr. Josuah Effah,who took home a rubber-cutter machine from Baruk enterprise. The third prize of a hot snack machine ,also from Kenobeng ,went to Mr. Frederick Amekudzi.
Seventeen consolation prizes made up of products from the other sponsors were also given out.
Other Peace FM officials at the ceremony included Mr. Faddah Dickson, Finance and Administration Manager; Mr. Charles Boakye, Marketing Executive and Mrs. Juliet Asare Hinaku.
