Kora All Africa Music Awards
Preparations for this year?s KORA ? All African Music Awards have kicked off with the official call for entries from musicians, record companies and artiste?s managers, the KORA representatives in Accra, Charterhouse Productions, have announced.

Winners this year stand to receive as much as $5,000 each for individuals and $7,500 for groups. The overall Best African Male and Female Artiste will however receive up to $10,000, Mrs. Theresa Ayoade, Events Director for Charterhouse disclosed in the media.

Ghana has made an impressive showing at the event over the years, with music maestro Kojo Antwi winning the Best Male Artiste for West Africa two times.

This year?s awards will see a Gospel segment being introduced as an addition to the categories, and it will award the Best and Female artistes and Best Gospel Group. This obviously would be welcome news for Ghanaian gospel artistes.

According to Mrs. Theresa Ayoade, an entry means a single entry from an artiste or a group and should be noted that only entries that meet the criteria for selection will be eligible for the pre-selection process.

The entries should have been produced between January 1, 2003 and July 2004, and not have been previously presented to KORA. The package should contain biography of artistes in English, and French, six CDs or audio cassettes with proposed track and two photographed of artistes.

This year, Ghana is expected to make a good showing at the ever scheduled for December with VIP, winners of the Ghana Music Awards Song of the Year, billed to perform on the country?s ticket.
