The launched of the Northern Entertainment Awards was held at Radach Hotel in Tamale
Northern-Ghana Entertainment Awards 2018 has been launched in Tamale on Friday, January 19, 2018.
The awards scheme is an annual event that put spotlight on Northern Musicians, Film makers, Sports and Media personalities as well as offer a unique opportunity for them to compete in various categories of the award scheme.
The 2018 Northern Ghana Entertainment Awards is a sequel of the 2016/2017 Northern Entertainment Awards held at the Tamale Sports Stadium and Radach Hotel respectively.
The award scheme is an initiative by Smile Multimedia in collaboration with the Celebrities Charity Development Foundation, the various stakeholders in the entertainment, arts, tourism and culture industry to recognize and honor distinguished personalities who have positively contributed to the sound growth of the entertainment industry in Northern Ghana.
This year’s edition will still concentrate on honoring persons who have made immense contribution and aided in the development of the entertainment industry in the year under review, but it is highly imperative to note that, we have decided to add-on a new face to our awards calendar with the aim of recognizing other hardworking individuals, brands and organizations outside the entertainment fraternity, like politicians, entrepreneurs, companies, NGOs and corporate organizations through our Northern Excellence Awards a merit award scheme as part of the NEA Awards Ghana 2018.
A 15 member selection committee, a nine (9) member board and a 35 member academy with representation across the three regions of the north will consult and nominate persons to be honored in the categories below; • 15 Music Award Categories • 6 Film Award Categories • 10 Media Categories • 3 Sports category • 20 Special Merit Awards (Excellence Awards)

The Nominees Jam for the 2018 Northern Ghana Entertainment Awards is slated to take place in the Northern regional capital, Tamale whiles the main awards night ceremony shall take place here in the upper west regional capital, Wa on Saturday 31st of March 2018.
