Since its inception in 2018, the 3Music Awards platform has been a leading event honouring the nation’s musicians.

After a year-long pause, the 2024 edition marked its return with a renewed commitment to “showcase the best in music and amplify the voices of our artists, creating an inclusive and unforgettable experience.”

The winners of the 2024 3Music Awards were announced on Saturday, 28 September 2024, at a grand ceremony held at the Palms Convention Center in Accra.

Hosted by Jay Foley and Efia Odo, the event featured electrifying performances from artistes like Kwesi Amewuga, Knii Lante, Enam, Sarfo Newman, and gospel acts Nacee and Piesie Esther, who brought a spiritual touch to the evening.

Lyrical Joe, Adina, and others also delivered standout performances.

Among the nominees leading the pack this year were Kuami Eugene with 15 nominations, Stonebwoy with 12, and King Promise with eight.

At the 2022 3Music Awards, the last time the awards were held, Afropop singer KiDi won the coveted Artist of the Year trophy for the second year running.

This year’s event continued the tradition of recognising and celebrating the outstanding contributions of Ghanaian and African musicians to the global music scene.

Stonebwoy emerged as a big winner, taking home the prestigious Artiste of the Year and Reggae/Dancehall Act of the Year awards.

Other notable wins included Black Sherif, who secured the Hiplife/Hip Hop Act of the Year and Performer of the Year titles, while Olivetheboy bagged multiple awards, including EP of the Year and Breakthrough Act of the Year.

Top honours also went to King Promise’s “Terminator” for Viral Song of the Year and Sarkodie’s “Otan” for HipHop Song of the Year.

The night celebrated a diverse range of talents, with Nacee’s “Aseda” winning Gospel Song of the Year and Tyla’s “Water” taking African Song of the Year.
