Award-winning Nigerian singer-songwriter and record producer, 2Face Idibia is in Accra to raise funds for premature babies in the country.

2Face, whose active music career started decades ago, is joining LittleBigSouls, an international charitable organisation to hold a fundraising event at Alisa Hotel on Saturday, November 14.

Themed, “African Royalty,” the 4th annual fundraising event, dubbed “Angel Ball” seeks to raise money to complete the Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) centre at the Tema General Hospital and also to set up a new KMC centre of excellence.

“Kangaroo Mother Care” is a low-cost intervention which encourages skin to skin contact between new mothers and preemies as a proven way to improve breathing, body temperature, feeding and bonding in the stable newborns.

In an interview at the Kotoka International Airport on Friday, 2Face Idibia called for more support for preemies in the country saying that the lives of preterm babies can be saved with the right medical support and adequate financial commitment.

According to the co-founder of LittleBigSouls, Edith Uyovbukerhi, the objective of the event is to “do more to save our babies by promoting and focusing on low-cost interventions to particularly KMC.”

She added that “We still need critical care equipment for our NICUs, for babies too tiny and too sick and we continue to make that a focus of our fundraising.”

2Face Idibia is a long time celebrity ambassador for LittleBigSouls and have supported the organization in Nigeria and Ghana for more than six years.

He will perform alongside “E go be’ hitmaker, Nana Yaa, Ofie Kodjoe and BankySax.
