As the country adjusts to new reality of life under self-quarantine in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic, a number of Ghanaian artistes were hosted by the Communications Ministry on Monday, April 13, to share some musical joy with Ghanaians during these trying times.
Though the event was mainly established to launch a new App that will help in tracing people who have come into contact with COVID-19 individuals, it was somewhat a fun-filled one as the likes of Shatta Wale, Kwami Eugene, Fancy Gadam, Lucky Mensah, Diana Asamoah, Eduordzi, Dada KD, Great Ampong did not fail to put up a great show.
The musicians rose to the challenge and created moments that still resonates.
With their riveting performances, they gave Ghanaians something to talk about long after the show.
If you didn’t get to watch the show, here’s what you missed:
Great Ampong got a lot of people thinking
He spoke to the hearts of many with the message from his ‘Coronavirus song’
That particular song became the talk of the town ever since it was released but the live ministration created a more striking impact of its message.
He made it clear in the song that the outbreak of coronavirus is an indication of God’s power and as such he needs to be revered.
His performance was no different from the original recording which subtly criticized the ‘so-called’ Men of God, Mallams and fetish Priests who according to him challenges God’s power.
Kaakyire Kwame Appiah performing his ‘Bronya’ song at a coronavirus virtual concert
The Highlife Artiste yesterday mounted the stage with his ‘Yekodi bronya’ song. Bronya by this time? Many people asked. The funny response from some Ghanaians were that, they are uncertain of still being alive by December.
Shatta Wale’s heavy winter jacket
He decided to wear clad himself in a winter jacket for his performance yesterday. The SM boss who was one of the main acts for the event, as usual, attracted the attention of several people but by this time, to the fact that he was wearing a winter jacket in this Ghanaian weather.
