Ghanaian female dancehall artiste, Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng, known in showbiz as Ebony who has shot to fame in the Ghanaian music industry with her catchy song titles and teasing choruses is arguably the most versatile and controversial female artiste in Ghana currently.

Already music lovers and pundits are predicting her to win the 2018 VGMA artiste of the year for her outstanding performances in the year under review as the debate on which artiste takes over from reigning VGMA Artiste of the Year, Joe Mettle, has begun.

Artist of the Year is the topmost award at the Ghana Music Awards, given to the artist(s) adjudged by the Academy, Board and the general public as having the highest audience appeal and popularity. The artist(s) must have released a hit single/album during the year under review.

In an interview with Doreen Avio on Joy fm last week December, 8th, 2012, during the release of her album titled ‘Bonyfied’, the songstress stated that she deserves to walk away with the artiste of the year crown early next year because she feels she deserves it.

Having released hit singles, undoubtedly, the numerous music fans who have enjoyed tunes like ‘Sponsor’, ‘Poison’, ‘Hustle’ among others from Ebony will advance strong arguments on why the ‘90s Bad Girl’ deserves to win Artiste of the Year.
