Lawyer and political analyst, Osei Kwadwo has argued that 90 percent of managers of artists in Ghana lack managerial skills.

The Lawyer commenting on why musicians who sing for political parties in the country end up having their musical careers crashing said he believes their managers are unprofessional.

“They don’t think of what will happen in the future but only think about what they will get from the politicians” he said on Adom FM’s Entertainment Hall.

Several musicians including Lucky Mensah, Barimah Sydney (Ghana Money), Sarkodie (Inflation), Daddy Lumba, Great Ampong and Cee have sung for political parties.

It has been widely claimed that artiste, Jewel Ackah had his musical career coming to an end after composing a song for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The legal luminary attributed this to the ‘unprofessionalism’ on the part of their managers which result in them choosing the wrong lyrics .

Selecting the wrong lyricsin the song, he said makes it difficult for them to reconcile with the opponents of the political party after the campaign season.

“If you are not careful and sing a song for a particular party in some years to come you will be the most terrible musician in the system…,” he said.

Osei Kwadwo therefore urged artist managers to be careful in allowing their artist mount political platforms.
