It was time to release tension after a long week; with amazing ‘oldschool’ tunes from the veteran highlife fellow, patrons took to the floor to dance out the stress at the 10th edition of Highlife Time.

Renowned highlife musician Alfred Benjamin Crentsil Jr. known by the stage name A.B Crentsil got the excited crowd singing and boogyeing to some of his hits songs including Moses, Angelina and “Anyen” literally translated to mean “witch”.

Song after song, the highlife legend shook the stage for close to two hours.

The in-house event which is held on the first Friday of every month, forms part of the Theatre’s aim to promote indigenous songs and generate revenue for the country’s veteran highlife artists. Backing the highlife icon was the Ghana Police Band.

Some patrons who spoke to www.ghanaweb.com after the event commended national theatre for its continuous effort towards promoting the performing arts. According to them, such events was important to connect people to their roots and culture and sell Ghanaian music to the world.
