Although still in her mid-twenties, this young singer, composer and producer is presently riding a crest of success that is shipping her to genuine international recognition.

By the time she was 15 years-old, she was singing in the Towda Choir at the Baptist Church in Obuasi and had taught herself the lyrics to some of Georgia and Christian Love’s songs under the training of Mr. John Antwi, presently in the States. By age 18, she enrolled at Gloryland School of Music where Mr. Agyeman Badu trained her and at age 20, she became the music director for the senior choir of Baptist Church by name Tribe of Judah.

But her story begins in her teens. Ruth’s arrival into the music world is nothing short of a blessing. Her father had lived in abject poverty and everything seemed to go wrong. Her relatives had abandoned the family with the mother and 3 siblings trying to help the dad make ends meet. Despite all these, the family held on to God and thankfully and miraculously, the birth of her nephew on November 11, 2005 saw joy in their family. Her father got a visa to go abroad, her brothers and sister gained employment and since then, life has been very good for them.

That proved to be the vehicle that drove her to come out with this thanksgiving, soul soothing and mind stimulating album titled ‘Nea Awurade Aye Ama Me’ (What God Has Done For Me), which is set to catapult her to the top of the local music charts.

The big turning point will be this year and the years ahead with the release of ‘Nea Awurade Aye Ama Me’ (What God Has Done For Me), which will arguably be responsible for breaking Ruth Boakye on local and international charts and project her to a wider audience.

Ruth Boakye is without a doubt one of Ghana’s most versatile and accomplished vocalists. She is quickly building herself a reputation as one of the hottest new gospel singers and songwriters in the country. Her 10-track album is definitely going to set her apart but to many her star really shines when she is singing praises. Ruth is constantly drawing on glorification of God, and this album is no different.

Tracks like ‘Okokuroko Nyame’ (Great God), ‘Onyame Beye’ (God Will Do), ‘Oka Yen Ho’ (He Is with us), ‘Okamafo Nyame’, ‘Nea Awurade Aye Ama Me’ and ‘Dommarima Jesus’ will surely see you in the house of the Lord.

“Sharing the Gospel and touching hearts through my music….. that is my calling, and that never ends,” said Ruth. I am so thankful for the opportunity to make music and I pray my album blesses someone.”

“It is also important not to get sidetracked. The idea is not to be at the top, but to keep focused on the most important reason for singing gospel music. My motivation is not geared at making it to the top. If you are effective, success will automatically reach you. Also, this music is going in too many directions. Music wasn’t created to save souls, but for the glory of God. Glorify God and he will touch the souls”, she added.

It is no secret that crime and other social vices continue to be hindrances in Ghana, but Ruth believes gospel artistes can make a difference.

Recorded at Golden Rock Digital Studio in Obuasi by Samuel Asamoah, the album which is executively produced by Ben Adu-Owusu & Kojo Ansah Mensah for BEMENZ GROUP and managed by Nat Kwabena Anokye-Adisi (Bola Ray) is indeed glorifying.

Using our medium, Ruth extends her deepest thanks to God Almighty first, to BEMENZ GROUP, Bola Ray, Prophetess Barbara Donkor, Mr. Aboagye Antwi, Deacon Opare Baidoo, Rev Enoch Akwaboa Jnr, Kankam, Samuel Asamoah, Prophet Francis Akwaboa Jnr and all her fans.

More than just a singer or producer, Ruth Boakye is a young beautiful woman whose heart is focused on spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ.
