Contrary to assertions by a section of the public that AJ Sarpong is eloquent and brings her finesse to bear as host, Dzifa Gbeho-Bampoh, a former Joy FM journalist opines that her English “needs further polish”.

Commenting on a post by Kwame Gyan, where the writer shared the one-year-old video of Bright Nana Amfoh’s ‘Vagima’ gaffe, Mrs. Gbeho-Bampoh said she was awaiting commentaries about the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs).

“The red carpet has started. I am waiting for the commentary… especially on AJ’s English… that needs further polish)” she stated.

AJ Sarpong, a broadcast journalist at Citi FM and Citi TV was billed to host the Red Carpet segment of this year’s VGMAs with TV3 and 3FM’s Johnnie Hughes while actor, John Dumelo and GHOne TV’s Berla Mundi were hosts for the main event.

Born Nana Adjoa Akuoko-Sarpong, AJ has hosted a number of events such as the Nestle Corporate and Family Day, DSTV I-Factory Showcase, IPMC 25th Anniversary Events, the Launch of the Bartenders Association of Ghana, The GBT Investor Conference, The Foreign Ministry sod cutting of Foreign Institute, The Safer Internet Day Ghana 2018, First Choice Beauty 20th Anniversary celebration, Citi FM’s Keeping Love Alive Valentine’s Event, Sarkodie’s Rapperholic press launch, Miss Maliaka 2016’s Ladies First Girl Empowerment and Music Night.

Other events she has emceed are Ghana Music Honors 2017, Ghana Events Awards 2017, CITI FM’s December 2 Remember 2017, the first ever launch and grand finale of Miss Communicator 2017.

Until she joined Citi FM in 2017, AJ was a presenter with the EIB Network where she hosted “Tales from the Powder Room” show on GHOne TV and several others on Starr FM as well as Live FM.

Dzifa left Joy FM for Tullow Ghana after working for the media house for 12 years. She was host of News Nite.
