"ASEDA" Climbing High

Like the wine, which gets better with each passing day, so are the Daughters of Glorious Jesus, one of Ghana's finest gospel trio, who get better with each passing album.

Currently, the glorious daughters are riding high on the waves of their eighth and latest album Aseda released at the National Theatre a couple of weeks ago.

Aseda, presently occupying the 12th position on the local chart show organised by JOY FM, has nine songs that one would want to hear over and over again.

The album, which is enjoying good airplay on our FM stations, is full of songs that tell the story of the Daughters of Glorious Jesus who in turn sing praise and thanksgiving onto God for his guidance and protection over the years.

Aseda opens with Ahintabea, a song that tells of the assurance of God's protection and refuge, sang in a hip-hop style.

Bebre, which has all too soon become a household word and gives Aseda unto God for his blessing over the years, is a cool but danceable tune.

The third song, Wo Ntaban, comes in a cool and R&B style. Yesu Mo is a cool worship song of thanksgiving unto the Lord.

Another happy and funky style tune on the album is Odomfo which recounts the abundance of the mercies of God.

Ayeyi ben has more of a high life beat, good for the dancing feet. Other soul inspiring and praise songs in the album are Adedie, and Wo so.

The real feel of the hip-hop and funky style on the album is in the instrumental version of Bebre, which exhibits good combination of instruments.

Aseda has indeed put gospel music on another level with good arrangement coupled with the sweet voice of the trio's lead singer, Cynthia, with backing from Edna and Monica.

With the kind of waves that Aseda is currently enjoying it would not be a surprise to see the album on top of our local chart soon.
