Wholly owned Ghanaian fashion brand with operations in Ghana and London, Aba & Thursday was adjudged the Designer of the Year (brand) at the just ended 2018 Fashion and Lifestyle Awards held at the plush African Reagent Hotel in Accra.

Aba & Thursday is a fashion brand committed to showcasing the rich culture of Africa to the rest of the world through African textiles and the brand has become popular as a result of its range of amazing products. Not only are the products of high quality, they are also trendy, classy and above all very affordable.

After a session of red carpet interviews and networking, the event commenced with the outlining of nomination criteria, voting phase and what the night meant for all attendees as well as players within the fashion sector across the country.

This was done with the needed pomp and pageantry to the delight of the audience which included several Ghanaian celebrities – movie stars, musicians and broadcast personalities, government officials and key stakeholders within the Ghanaian creative arts industry.

Commenting on the win, an overwhelmed Ms. Christabel Osei, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Aba & Thursday expressed her appreciation to God for making it possible to win a keenly contested category.

She further thanked her team for believing in her dream and helping her to make it see the light of day. “This is the beginning of the journey for us and we are committed to go the entire nine yards. I thank the organizers of the awards and everyone making a meaningful contribution within the fashion industry to make it bigger and better”, she added.

The fashion and lifestyle awards is a platform to celebrate hardworking professionals within the Ghanaian fashion space and according to the organizers, they are optimistic the awards will go a long way to reposition the fashion sector to become a major contributor to the nation’s gross domestic product.
