Peacefmonline can confirm that one of the country’s finest radio presenters and late afternoon show host, Gabriel Abeiku 'Santana' Aggrey, has quit AdomFM by tendering in his resignation letter.

What however, remains unclear is whether the versatile Drive-Time presenter is heading to another radio station or severing links entirely with radio.

Reliable sources told peacefmonline that the Ofiekwanso presenter called it quits on Wednesday October 13.

Santana, who is said to be on leave and cooling off in China, delegated a close pal to drop off his resignation letter with the station’s management.

Abeiku Santana was Head of Music Programmes at Tema-based AdomFm, a position he held till his unexpected decision.

The CEO of Strategic Communications Ltd first cut his teeth in broadcasting with VibeFM in 1997 after friends and colleagues encouraged him to go into radio because he had the flair and style for emceeing.

Abeiku also worked with Radio ZFm now Eastern fm in Koforidua from 1997 to 1999. He then moved to Kumasi, Radio Mercury from 1999-2001, as the Assistant Programmes Manager. He later joined the Sky Group of companies’ owner of Ash Fm in Kumasi, as the late afternoon show host and also a Sales and Marketing Supervisor.

After returning from Europe in 2002, Abeiku Santana joined Multimedia group company limited owners of AdomFm where he has been working as the Drive-time host of Ofiekwanso from 2pm to 6pm weekdays.

Meanwhile, peacefmonline is reliably informed that Santana is not the only person who has packed bag and baggage and is on his way out of the Tema Community Two-based station.

Impeccable sources say, ace news caster, Afia Pokua, has expressed her desire to leave the Multi-media Broadcasting Group. Management of AdomFM is said to be in a marathon meeting with the talented journalist trying to impress upon her the need to stay; this was after she laid her cards on the table.

She is said to have catalogued some conditions of service before she stays put.

Don’t be surprised though, if it turns out that she is still a staff of the privately-owned radio station based in Tema, since peacefmonline can say with certainty that AdomFM management is determined not to let one of their prized assets leave.

But who knows tomorrow? Only God can tell…

We will keep you posted as and when events unfold at AdomFM…and the radio industry.
