For any great lover of hiplife music, there is probably one artist you can’t do without especially since his introduction to the Ghanaian music scene and that is none other than Michael Elliot Kwabena Okyere Darko popularly known as Obrafour.

Among the countless songs we love from him are Pae Mu Ka, Asem Sebe, Twe Wo Ho, Kwame Nkrumah but in a country where we hardly pay attention to some of the creative minds behind beautiful pieces we listen to, Abeiku Santana made a revelation today on his radio show.

I remember speaking to Sarkcess Music signed artist Akwaboa sometime back in an interview where he revealed most songwriters in Ghana were not given their due. I therefore felt it was quite necessary to let you know Obrafour’s hit song Odo was composed and produced by ace radio personality and newly outdoored ambassador for tourism in Ghana, Gilbert Aggrey also known as Abeiku Santana.

Well, how did I know? The presenter on Tuesday, May 24 during his show uploaded snippets of him singing the song live on radio and indicated he was the composer and the producer of the song that was recorded in 2000 but released in 2001.

This is in no way to discredit Obrafour for his creativity and writing prowess but to shed light on the brains behind some of these creative works we enjoy. How often do you even check the writer of the story you read online? Guess you don’t. This falls in place.

Watch Abeiku Santana talk about Odo and how it came about.
