Kaya Tours Limited, a tourist destination management and an emerging brand in tour operations in Ghana, Touristswatch and Intercity STC Coaches have launched an initiative that aims to drive domestic tourism.

Dubbed, ‘’Njoy Ghana Tours’’, the new tourism project is to complement the effort being made to revive interest in domestic tourism through the organization of the general public to tourist sites and tourism related events, such as festivals around the country.

In its first tour ‘Njoy Ghana Tours’ will embark a trip to the Kwahu area this Easter. For 24 hours, patrons will be taken to selected attractions within the area while indulging in the famous Kwahu Easter celebration.

In his keynote address at the launch of the initiative on Tuesday, Tourism Ambassador and Chief Executive Officer of Kaya Tours, Mr Glibert Abeiku Aggrey Santana said the objective is to promote Ghana as a tourist destination where people can enjoy cultural heritage and festivals and thus help push Ghana higher on the world tourism chart.

“Accra has a population of 3.5 to 3.8 million followed by Kumasi and this is our first initiative of driving people from the capital to any tourist attraction and festival in Ghana” he noted.

He indicated that the collaboration with Intercity STC is to ensure that all those who patronize the tour are safe and secured in comfort and luxury.

“What becomes of sustainable tourism if safety and security is not imbibed in the tourism drive, this is why we have partnered with intercity STC buses, it is the most reliable, safety transport system in the county at the moment and over the years, he added.

Managing Director of intercity STC, Mr. Samuel Nuamah Donkor said the company was happy to be part of the initiative to help promote domestic tourism. He noted that, they consider it a social responsibility to readily help push the sustainable tourism agenda through safe travel. He commended the initiative and assured patrons a smooth, safe and comfortable trip to Kwahu.

The maiden tour to Kwahu during Easter will feature exciting side attractions such as musical trailer that will see performances by some of the nation’s top artistes as the tour bus makes stops on its way to the area.

Food, drinks will be served to all those who will be on board the luxurious Scania Marcopolo bus that will be provided by Intercity STC. The bus comes with a restroom, a coffeemaker, charging ports, free wi-fi and a lot more that will ensure that all on board feel cozy and well entertained.
