Member of Parliament-elect for Okaikwei Central, Baba Sadiq, has urged his contender, Patrick Boamah, to accept the results of the 2024 general election and move forward.
In an interview on Hitz FM on December 10, 2024, Baba Sadiq acknowledged that while Patrick Boamah, who was voted out, has decided to challenge the election results in court, the outcome declared by the Electoral Commission reflects the will of the electorate.
"I think he must accept the results so we can all move on. It’s an option for him to challenge the results in court, but we can’t ignore the fact that the Electoral Commission has declared the outcome.
“I would have wished that someone who had been voted in three times by the constituents would understand the desire for change this time around. He needs to accept his fate and perhaps consider moving on to other opportunities," he stated.
Baba Sadiq also encouraged Patrick Boamah to focus on future political growth.
"He is a fine gentleman; he’s got a very good political experience. I think he can move up and there is every opportunity for him to move up within his party or within the political ladder itself," he added.
