Accountant charged with stealing motorbike

Sekondi, June 8, GNA- Nana Asafuah, an accountant, on Monday appeared before a Sekondi District Magistrate's Court, charged with stealing a Yamaha motorbike parked behind the Wesley Methodist Church Mission House in Sekondi.

The accused pleaded not guilty and would re-appear on June 28, this year.

Police Sergeant Andam Okyere told the court that Reverend Jonas Samuel Aboagye, a minister of the church and now a student at the University of Ghana, Legon, obtained the motorbike from a friend to do some errands.

He said on the night of February 13, 2003, Reverend Aboagye parked the motorbike at the mission house.

Sergeant Okyere said Asafuah and one other person now at large, picked the motorbike and a witness in the case, Miss Irene Dadzie saw them raised an alarm.

The other accomplice drove away while the accused took to his heels but he was arrested. 8 June 04
