Accra Film School opens admission

The Accra Film School AFS has announced that admissions are open for the 2014/2015 academic year.

The school is currently considering applications for certificate courses in the various disciplines in film and theatre. The results of the application will be communicated to applicants as soon as they are available towards the end September.

Prospective candidates for admission must be 16 years and older; and hold at least a WASSCE, its equivalent or higher to pursue courses such as Film Editing, Acting, Directing, Script writing, photography and television presentation; at the school.

Executive Director of the School, Rex-Anthony Annan has high hopes for the next session. He says, “The time to raise the pertaining standards in Ghana’s film industry is overdue hence the Accra Film School’s unique mandate to churn out next generation of fantastic film makers.” He added that AFS courses are sure to substantially create deeper passions for telling the African and Ghanaian stories excellently.

The Accra Film School opened in 2012 and has since graduated 50 professional film makers and is expected to quadruple this number in 5 years.
