After a busy month in which shoppers and revellers were dazzled with fun games, musical shows and heavy discounts, Achimota Retail Centre has announced it is closing the year with a string of enchanting entertainment gigs while it continues to offer customers rock-bottom seasonal shopping deals.
During the past one month, patrons of Achimota Mall have been blessed with a series of loyalty promotions and exciting fun games in a rare shopping ambience spiced up by one rousing entertainment show after the other.
Mall management announced today that Achimota is stepping up the tempo with an intriguing line up of shows and concerts, some of which will call big stars and celebrities like MzVee, KiDi and Kuame Eugene into action.
On Friday, December 22, Achimota mall will be the venue for the highly fancied ‘Sky Girls Concert’ – a star-studded musical concert targeting teen girls of 13 years and above and structured to empower especially young ladies from Senior High Schools.
‘Sky Girls is an anti-tobacco initiative championed by Good Business UK and is a project fully funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. This concert is more like an end-of-year party for teenaged girls. Besides the musical performances, the bill includes variety fun activities and refreshment for the audience,’ Mr Anthony Asamoah, Achimota Retail Centre’s Marketing Manager told to reporters.
However, it does appear that Achimota mall’s most highly anticipated attraction, ahead of Christmas, is the ‘Heritage Fashion Show’ slated for December 23.
The Heritage Fashion show is the brainchild of Javon Effects Limited and has been put together to inspire mass appeal and appreciation among Ghanaians for local Ghanaian fashion as reflected in Ghanaian fabrics, creative designs, accessories and craft.
Said Mr Asamoah: ‘This fashion show is unlike any other you might have seen elsewhere. The runway will showcase the most ingenious application and adaptation of our local prints, craft and traditional fashion accessories in a way that would win over every fashion aficionado.’
The marketing manager said the show will feature as many as seven models who will do up creations by six celebrated fashion designers in an electrifying ambience invoked by performances from Dancehall artiste Tsooboi, Josh Black, Nii Ashley, and the acoustic maestro, Ebo Yankful.
He disclosed that the main highlight of entertainment at Achimota Mall on Christmas day itself will be the ‘Aseda Fest’ – a marathon musical concert of praise and thanksgiving to God for his kindness and faithfulness throughout the year. About eight gospel music performers, including Beckie Ray, John Edem, Celestine Donkor and Akesse Brempong, are billed to mount the stage.
He said the ‘Aseda Fest’ Concert is a fundraiser in which spot offering and gifts from the show would be donated to the Reverend John Special School in Winneba and other deprived communities.
