Diminutive actor, Yaw Dabo will on July 23 gather a large number of Ghanaian children for an anticipated huge soccer fiesta to among other objectives, preach peace.
The ceremony which will take place in Ahodwo Sokoban in the Ashanti region of Ghana is coming off few months to Ghana’s 2016 general elections.
It will be attended by a number of Ghana’s celebrated movie stars and musicians some of whom will be performing.
A total of six children’s teams will be featured in the soccer fiesta and among them will be Dabo’s own team, Apostle Stars, Adom FC, Efriyie FC and others.
“If you pay attention to what happens in international circles, you will realize that it is children who suffer the most in matters of war or fight and it is sad. But in our setting or communities here, it is mostly children who start some of these petty fights. They bring fight among parents and so I want to use the platform to advise children not to bring problems in times like this. They should be careful. That is the reason I am organizing the match for peace,” he explained.
He also said any form of sponsorship is welcome from benevolent individuals or companies who want to support him, especially support from media houses who want to cover the event.
Dabo is currently one of Ghana’s most loved young actors, who are doing very well on the movie scene.
He began acting some five years ago and featured in a number of productions. His major movie so far is Megye Wo Girl by Media5 Promotions.
He once said fellow diminutive actors, Wayosi and Nigeria’s Osita Iheme aka Pawpaw inspired him to act.
However Ghanaian actors, Majid Michel and Jackie Appiah are on the top of his list of favorite actors.
The July 23 football match is his way of giving back to society for embracing his talent.
