Actor Joe Shortingo Loses Mum...Buries Her This Weekend

Exactly a week after actress Nana Ama McBrown lost her father, there are reports that diminutive actor Joe Shortingo has lost his mother.

Madam Kate Aikins died at Apam a few weeks ago while receiving treatment at a hospital.

She was battling an undisclosed ailment, which lead to her death.

The actor, who is currently mourning his late mum, confirmed the death to NEWS-ONE yesterday. “It is true. Sorry I didn’t inform you about it,” he said in a solemn voice.

The late Kate Aikins will be buried this weekend at Apam in the Central Region of Ghana. A number of Ghanaian actors are expected to be in Apam to support their colleague.

Joe, born Joseph Pamfo, is one of Ghana’s interesting actors. He entered Ghana’s movie industry seven years ago when he debuted in the movie ‘Alomo Gyata’.

He has since featured in a number of movies like ‘Bosomba,’ ‘Konongo Kaya’, ‘Owuo Safoa,’ and ‘My Love.’ On the international scene, he played a role in a movie titled ‘Baba’s Song’, which was shot in Malawi in 2007 and featured Hollywood actress Franka Potente of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ fame.

He is a native of Apam in the Central Region and is loved in the region.
