Augustine "Idikoko" Abbey, a Ghanaian actor and scriptwriter planning to shoot a film in Botswana, postponed his return flight home yesterday after realising that proposals for the film were not complete.

The Culture and Heritage Botswana Pageant Trust, who engaged the actor to write the films' script, realised on Tuesday that Abbey's presence would be needed to complete the proposals to be submitted to government and the private sector. According to Millicent Shunda - director of the Trust - she and the actor agreed to postpone the return trip because a budgetary plan and other paper work were not complete.

"He had to stay because he is one of the signatories on the proposals," she said.

Abbey, who will now fly home tomorrow, will return to Botswana in February and not March as was initially planned, to continue auditions for the film.

So far only members of Motheo Theatre Group of Mochudi have auditioned. He will direct and produce the film.

Shunda also revealed that the Trusts' patron, Pamela Nomvete of Generations fame - a South African soapie - will feature in the film.

In the meantime interested candidates are urged to register for auditions. Names of the successful candidates will be announced at a dinner dance on February 26.

Audition forms are available at Kudu Travel or contact 71219497 for audition bookings.
