A feature in a music video has landed Kannywood actress, Rahama Ibrahim Sadau in trouble with Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MOPPAN), who have banned her from acting in Hausa movies.
Rahama, 22, made a feature as ClassiQ‘s girlfriend in his newly released music video for ‘I Love You’, which didn’t go down well with the movie association.
Announcing the actress’ ban, MOPPAN’s secretary, Salisu Mohammed released a statement on Sunday, October 2 citing Rahama’s appearance as ‘immoral’ and ‘a violation of the association’s code of ethics’ because she ‘appeared in series of visuals (video and pictorials) hugging and cuddling the music artiste.’
It further warned other actors that its clampdown on the actress should serve as deterrent in checking their public behaviour.
Thenetng reached out to Rahama, who was named ‘Best Actress’ (Kannywood) at the 2014 City People Award, for comments but she is yet to respond.
