Accra, Oct. 14, GNA-Ada Secondary School qualified to represent the Greater Accra Region for the National Constitution Games scheduled for next April 2006.

The school scored 107 points to win the Greater Accra Regional Qualifier held in Accra on Friday.

Presbyterian Secondary School, Legon came second with 115 points while Accra High School took the third position with 118 points. The games, organised by the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) was to instil in the youth good governance and democratic system and also learn more about the constitution.

Mrs Doris Archampong,Greater Accra Regional Director of the NCCE said the games, had been designed by the commission to excite the imagination of the youth, especially, and instil in them, the spirit of tolerance and constructive debate.

This is one reason why the competing teams should learn to be tolerant and circumspect in their general attitude, she said. "It is therefore, imperative to get our young citizens deeply involved in processes that would inculcate in them the timeless civic virtues," she said, adding that they could be well disposed towards the rule of law and the upholding of the values of fundamental human rights of all citizens.

Other schools that took part in the games are Chemu Secondary, Osudoku Secondary, Tema Industrial, Ashiaman Secondary, Accra Girls Secondary and Odorgonno Secondary.
