A leading female presenters at Adom FM, Ohemaa Woyeje, has resigned from the station, YEN.com.gh can report.
According to Ohemaa Woyeje, her six-year stay with Multimedia Group, owners of Adom FM, "has officially come to an end today 31st January 2019."
In a post on Instagram, Ohemaa who thanked God for her talents praised Kwesi Twum, owner of Multimedia for the opportunity he offered her.
She also thanked all her superiors. "I thank God for gifting me a unique talent that made me survive this fulfilled journey and I pray He makes me excel even beyond human understanding in my next radio chapter.
"I thank the owner himself Kwasi Twum, one of a kind A boss to die for one I would have loved to work with a lifetime, for offering his platform and giving me the honour to serve Ghana and the world through radio & tv.
"I’m grateful for superiors like Ekyi Quarm and Nana Apeanti, not forgetting Mark Okraku and a Few others whose warmth gave a conducive office to work happily," her post which directed fans to read the full story in the Graphic showbiz partly read.
YEN.com.gh checks on the Showbiz story indicated that Ohemaa tendered in her resignation letter on Wednesday, January 30.
The presenter who has won awards as the Best Female DJ on radio on four occasions is said to have decided to leave Adom FM because the terms of her contract had been breached and she was not happy.
"I took my vacation and returned in October. I resumed work and about an hour before I went on air, my boss sent me a Whatsapp message asking me to hand over the show to someone else, without any explanation.
“My contract of employment at Multimedia is as a presenter and per my job description, I’m to host, entertain and engage listeners with music and delivery but they breached the contract by assigning me new roles that have nothing to do with presenting such as field jobs and production work.
“My bosses took this decision alone, there was no prior notification or communication. I was not ready for these new roles so I have quit,” she is quoted to have said.
Ohemaa Woyeje started her media career in 2003 with Nkosuo Radio in Kumasi from where she moved to Sky FM in Sunyani and back to Kumasi with Zuria FM.
She then moved to Accra where she pitched camp with Top Radio; she was with the station for seven years and handled the mid-morning show for five-and-a-half years before Multimedia brought her on board to host Work and Happiness, which she handled for nearly six years.
Ohemaa happens to be the second high-profile Adom FM presenter to have quit the station in the past two months. It will be recalled that popular newscaster and presenter, Kofi Admoa Nwanwani left the station in last November after about 10 years with them.
