Africa’s fashion has incredible history and culture, with its vibrant array of colours, intricate patterns, and collective artisanal workmanship. Even with the challenges of access to developed markets in developed countries and perceptions about African clothing as “traditional” or “ethnic,” African-inspired fashion is finding its way on the runways of New York, Paris, London, Milan, and now, Geneva.

We are leading the revolution in Geneva.

The Africa Fashion Show Geneva (AFSG) is in its 4th year. This event is expected to draw even more crowds than the thousands who attended previous shows. This is not just because of the colours, the food, the music, or even the marvelous and culturally-rich designs on display, but because fashion can enhance culture, drive a country’s economy and provide a sense of fashion styles that have transformative power.

Did you know that the textile and clothing industry is the second largest after agriculture in developing countries, including those in Africa? Well, billions of dollars can be generated in the coming years if properly harnessed.

The event will showcase and celebrate diverse fashion talents and designs from Rwanda, Tanzania, Ghana, Nigeria, Mali and Senegal. Building on a formidable south-south cooperation, the show will feature guest designers from Brazil and Russia.

The event, organised by Crucible Events and Planners (CEP), is on Saturday, 28 May 2016 at the Grand Hotel Kempinski, Geneva. The runway fashion show, exhibition and directs sales begin at 14h00 and a networking and gala-dinner event is scheduled for 19h30.

Join us at AFSG 2016 – be part of the future today. Come and witness the rich culture and tradition embedded in Africa’s fashion.
